Kerr County Spring Range & Wildlife Field Day

The Kerr County Soil & Water Conservation District will be holding their annual SWCD Spring Range and Wildlife Field day on May 19th at the Kerr Wildlife Management Area in Hunt, Texas. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. with the program to begin at 9:00 a.m. and then wrap-up around 3:30 p.m..

Cost for the day long program will be $20.00 per person.  This will include lunch and
educational materials with tons of information. Three hours of pesticide CEU’s will also be available for private, commercial or non-commercial applicators.

Speakers include:

  • Dr. Joe Paschal, Extension Livestock Specialist, will discuss the Fever Tick Concerns in South Texas
  • Dr. Bob Dittmar, TPWD Veterinarian, will discuss Chronic Wasting Disease
  • Dr. John Tomecek, Extension Wildlife Biologist, will present Feral Hog Control Strategies
  • Justin Foster with the Kerr WMA will discuss the current feral hog research being conducted at the Kerr Wildlife Management Area
  • Dr. Megan Clayton, Extension Range Specialist, will present information on how drones can be utilized in range management
